OK, so MVP's not won a match in, what? 6 months?
And now he starts giving speeches before each of his matches, apparently trying to get some sympathy for his crappy situation.
The fact that he's giving these speeches (regardless of what he's actually saying) is sending the message: "Hey everyone! this isn not just a wrestler who keeps loosing his matches! It's a fragging storyline that you're supposed to pay attention to!"
So, where whould this storyline ultimately lead to?
It seems like MVP's arrogance is slowly crumbling into pieces. He still is arrogant, and angry - especially when the audience refuses to feel sorry for him. But with every additional match he loses, his attitude becomes less cocky and more meek...
I think MVP is currently in the process of redefining ihs image. He's probably not going to turn into Face (that would really push it!), but he might end up a 'tweener.
Of course, to get rid of the Heel status, you need to get a noticeable part of te audience to like you - and MVP's previous behavior was geared to ensure that no one would like him. As I mentioned before, he's currently dialing back the attitude, but that's not enough.
To really get rid of his old reputation, MVP needs to perform a great and heroic deed.
Obviously, the end of his "losing streak" storyline must be a victory. And preferably, this victory should be achieved against an opponent who is a) tough to beat (so the victory is actually a great achievement) and b) even less popular than MVP himself (so beating him will make people happy).
And at the moment, I see only one appropriate target: Vladimir Kozlov!
Yup, that's right! I predict that MVP will be the first WWE wrestler to beat the Ruthless Russian.
Probably some time in January or February (depending on how long they wish to drag out this losing streak plot).
