Lesnar the UFC Champ

Postby BrendaRua on Mon Jul 13, 2009 1:57 pm

Hey! I wonder how many folks follow MMA. UFC just had it's biggest PPV ever, featuring our ol' friend Brock Lesnar vs Frank Mir to determine the undisputed heavyweight champ. Mir got dominated bye the 265lb Lesnar, which wasn't too big a surprise I guess, with a KO ground pound about a min into the 2nd round. The bigger surprise was Lesnar's post fight actions. Right out of WWE playbook he gave the fans a double bird, then bitch slapped the major sponsor, Budwiser, by saying he was gonna pop open a can of Coors. ROFL

VERY shortly after he got spanked by the owner. I wish they'd broadcast that!

But I wonder what folks think about pro wrestlers moving over to the real world. Do you see any affect on either side? Do you think more will switch over now that Lesnar's paved the way? There's BIG money at the top after all. Other comments?

I saw it! I thought it was a great fight too, at least for Lesnar. I found his antics amusing, and I think UFC could use a bit of what Brock brings.

Lesnar said that while he trains a bit harder than when in the WWE, fighting 2-3 a year is way preferable to the hellish schedule he kept in the WWE. The problem though is that I don't think many guys can make make the transition over. I think Lensar is the exception to the rule. I don't see Angle, or Victoria being able to do it. Bobby Lashley is doing it, I'm told, so we'll see.

Daniel Puder, was in WWE then went to MMA.. Ken Shamrack also went to WWE, his ankle lock submission made the Rock tap out!

if WWE wrestlers went to MMA. MMA will be entertainment like, the feuds.

I just don't know the Big Money though? I wonder who pays the biggest salary?MMA or Wrestling? hehehe..

It depends on what you do better at. MMA has more endorsement deals attached but you fight less. On the other hand, in wrestling you have consistent work and therefore a consistent pay, assuming you're in the big leagues of course

Well who knows what folks really make in WWE. Remember the interview with April Hunter that was posted a while back? On the other hand we know guys in UFC get 6 figure contracts. That's to start.
